Jim was born and grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. After earning a Master’s in Physics, Jim briefly joined the Army and then worked for government contractors through much of the 1950s performing atomic testing, travelling extensively through the South Pacific. It was during one of his rotations home that he met his future wife and lifelong love, Diane Thompson. They were married in 1965 and celebrated 49 years of marriage until Diane passed in 2014.
After his second child was born, Jim then pursued a major career change. He earned an MBA from Harvard with a specialization in finance. Upon graduation, Jim joined Worcester Federal Savings Association and eventually rose to become President of the bank. Jim and Diane grew tired of New England winters and Jim took a position with San Antonio Savings Association (SASA). He stayed at SASA until he semi-retired. Jim then performed consulting work until well into his 80s, including serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Texas Associations of Professionals credit union.
Jim is survived by his two daughters.
