While in the Navy, James had served on the John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier and then the Seabees. At the time of his death, he worked at Glen Lakes Country Club in Weeki Wachee, Florida.
James was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hume and his brother, Richard, Hume, Jr.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ann and Don Parkinson; brother, David Hume; stepsisters, Annabel Roman and Isabelle Parkinson, all of San Antonio, Texas; grandmother, Frances Gardner of Groton, Massachusetts; and nephew, Christopher Thede of Garner, Iowa.
James was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
