

Jim will be remembered always and with love by his family. He is loved and missed by his wife, Anne Martindale Jackson; his sons: Lloyd D. Jackson and R. Tyler Jackson; grandsons: Evan B. Jackson and Dylan K. Jackson. Jims brother and sisters were also very dear to him: Ann J. Breed and her husband Herman; John Jackson and his wife Sharon, Beth J. Sterwart and Patti J. Murley and her husband Don. Jim had a sister-in-law, Mary Foss and her husband Peter, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, all whom he loved dearly.
Jim was born on July 3, 1951 to John Lloyd Jackson and Billie Granberry. He graduated from Edison High School, San Antonio, Texas (class of 1969) and was President of the Rodeo Club while there. He went on to Texas A&M for one semester then joined the Army. After an honorable discharge, he enrolled and graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in 1975 with a Bachelors in Journalism. While attending Southwest Texas State, Jim met Anne and in July of 1981 they married in Austin, Texas. Their two children and two grandchildren were the highlights of their lives bringing so much pride and joy. Jim worked in the insurance industry for many years and retired from Nationwide as an agribusiness adjuster.
Jim had many loves. First most was his family and friends. He treasured family gatherings and reunions and meeting up with his friends. He loved the San Antonio Rodeo (all opportunities for rodeo events) and times at Medina Lake. Jim loved riding the train at Brackenridge Park with his grandchildren. He loved fishing and hunting with his brother, sons and friends. His bar-b-qued brisket, chicken and ribs were family favorites. He enjoyed John Wayne movies, situation comedies and books of the old west. Jim had a big heart and loved to laugh, visit, joke and simply be in the presence of his many loved ones.
