

James “Jim” R. Noland passed away on August 29, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born on August 7, 1924. Jim was raised in Moundsville, Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Noland and his brother, Paul who was killed in combat in World War II. Jim joined the Navy in 1943 and served on the USS Weeden 797 in the Pacific Fleet during the Second World War. After the war he located to San Antonio, attending Trinity University. He graduated in 1949 and went in to the accounting profession. He married Roberta Hawkins in 1954 who predeceased him. Jim served as the regional audit manager for the Department of Transportation, relocating to Fort Worth. In 1976, he was recognized as government auditor of the year by the Fort Worth Federal Business Association, before retiring in 1985 and moving back to San Antonio.
He is survived by his twin sons, Jimmy and his wife, Selynda and Paul and his wife, Paula. He has 5 grandchildren: Kevin, Scott, Bryan, Lloyd and Nikki. He is also survived by his brother, Robert his wife, Glynda and their daughter, Christa.
Jim enjoyed playing golf, ball room dancing, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He will be remembered as a kind, loving father and grandfather who was easy going, humorous, and a gentlemen.

A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 pm and a graveside service will take place on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park at 10:00 am. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
