James Nanez Perez Jr.

James “Sonny” Perez, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, went to be with our Lord peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 7, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on April 4, 1950, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Sylvia; his two daughters Maricela and husband Chris Hamilton and Veronica and husband Anthony Sambrano. He was a proud grandfather to six cherished grandchildren; Leeanna, Jayla, Casey, Olivia, Anthony Jr., and Sophia, who brought him immense joy and love beyond measure.

James was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family, relatives and friends living life to its fullest.

James is preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Cecilia Perez.

James will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strength of character, and the warmth he shared with everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 5, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237.

A Rosary is scheduled for the same day at the same venue, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will follow the Rosary, taking place from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same location.

The Committal Service is planned for December 5, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 2:50 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
