James E. Pestello, Sr.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away October 26, 2002. James E. Pestello, Sr. was born September 2, 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Antonio Ferraro Pestello and Cecelia Patrick. He traveled the world during his 24 years of service in the United States Air Force. Dad also touched the life of many people through his second career with John Hancock Life Insurance.

He is survived by his loving wife Lancey and his children James and Beverly Pestello, Laurie and Deane Proctor, Roxanne and Bob White, Elizabeth and Warren McBride, Lisa and Josh Asrar, Joe and Lona Pestello, Sam Pestello and 16 beautiful grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dad loved his children and grandchildren and they adored him and will miss him dearly. His greatest achievement was being the best husband, father and grandfather a family could hope for. Jim had a strong faith in God and was a very active member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was past Grand Knight of Council 5262 and past Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree Assembly 2040. He was instrumental in preparing for the Papal visit to San Antonio in 1987. The family would like to express their thanks to many friends and family whose prayers and comforting words helped us through this difficult time. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 5 o'clock to 9 o'clock at Porter Loring on McCullough.
