

He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After working for Holt Machinery for many years, Jim co-founded Alamo Track and later founded Rutledge Equipment Company.
He was preceded in death by, his mother and father, Marie and James Rutledge, Sr.; two brothers, John Rutledge, and Bob Rutledge; and sister Helen Kight.
He lives on through his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Rutledge; brother Franklin Rutledge; two daughters Kay (John) Miller and Roxane Kincaid; three sons Roger (Brenda) Rutledge, Dale (Jerry) Rutledge and Kevin Rutledge; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Jim was well known for his love of Football. From professional level to high school level, Jim never missed a game. He was also an avid deer and turkey hunter, instilling the love of the great outdoors into his children and grandchildren. Jim will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him!
The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary.

Rev. Joe Walts will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Rutledge, Dale Rutledge, James Kincaid, John Miller, Tim Garis, and Harley Loy.
