James Harrell Tipton

James Harrell Tipton, age 81, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2013 in New Braunfels, TX. He was born on July 26, 1931 in Floresville, TX to Harrell Park & Beuna Mae Tipton. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. Mr. Tipton was honored to have graduated from Baylor University and worked over 38 years at Straus Frank of San Antonio. He was a long time member of San Antonio First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Harriet Tipton; son, Mike Tipton; and brother, Matt Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, Karlene Tipton; 2 children, Rell Tipton & wife Elizabeth and Melanie Head & husband Ralph; daughter-in-law, Edna Tipton; 7 grandchildren, Scott Head, Michelle Head, Warren Head, Park Tipton, Meredith Holbert, Nathan Tipton and Sarah Figueroa; 2 brothers, Ronald Tipton and Larry Tipton.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
