'Janet (always know to me as Ms. Bell) was my 1st grade teacher 57 years ago at Wilshire Elementary. My mother always tells the story of my 1st day of school and how I was reluctant to go into the classroom because I was wearing glasses. After hearing of the situation from my mom, Ms. Bell has the perfect solution. As I entered the classroom, Ms. Bell said aloud, "Sterling, you look soooo handsome in your glasses!" Evidently, I beamed with pride and loved her as my 1st grade teacher. I was able to see her again on numerous occasions at AHMC when visiting my mother. It is always a joy knowing that one day we will meet again. God Bless the Bell family as you remain in our thoughts and prayers during this time.'

'Mrs. Bell was my 1st grade teacher at Wilshire Elementary 57 years ago. I had the honor to see her again on several occasions at her church when in town to visit my mother. My mom always reminded me of the story of my 1st day in her class. I was refusing to go in as I was wearing glasses and afraid of what the other kids were going to say. After hearing about the dilemma from my mom, Mrs. Bell welcomed me into the classroom and said out loud so the entire class could hear, "Sterling, you look soooo handsome in your glasses!"
