Jason was blessed with a wonderful loving family. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jennifer; their two children, Collyn, age 16, and Addyson, age 4; his parents, John and Patricia Burgess of Birmingham, Alabama; two younger brothers, Fran Burgess and his wife, Jenise of Papua New Guinea, and Ben Burgess and his wife, Cally of Memphis, Tennessee; and his nieces and nephews who adored him, Shay, Adley, Anna Grace, Hope, and Molly. He is fondly remembered by many Aunts, cousins, and close friends.
Jason worked as a District Sales Manager for GC America for nearly 15 years. He was great with people and knew exactly how to break the ice in most situations. He was always trying to make other people laugh and was great at keeping people together. Jason was always known for being the guy with unlimited useless knowledge, great for trivia. His ability to remember specific historical dates was astonishing. Jason was a great storyteller and his favorite stories to tell were those of his family. He was an avid athlete throughout his life, participating in many sports including soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and running the occasional Tough Mudder. Jason also loved coaching, especially his son's soccer team. His children were his pride and joy, his brothers were his best friends, and his wife was the love of his life.
Jason was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, nephew, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Though we are grieving and in shock, we are thankful Jason is with his Lord Jesus in heaven and we will be reuniting with him someday.
We will be celebrating Jason's life on Wednesday, December the 9th at 10:30AM at Communion Chapel, 5719 Mobud St, San Antonio, TX 78238. There will be a time to share some of your favorite memories of Jason.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Baptist Academy of Universal City.
