Jay R. Emrie, Jr. entered Heaven on May 6, 2010, at the age of 84. Jay is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Emma Emrie and their four children Linda Abrahamson (Garry), Jerry Emrie (Lourdes), Kenneth Emrie (Holly), Barbara Myers (David); grandchildren Butch Lively (Tiffany), Joshua and Daniel Emrie; Lauren and Justin Myers; great grandchildren Tyler and Bailey Lively; brother, John Emrie. Jay is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins; many loving friends; and his beloved dog, Sadie. Jay’s family would like to thank NE Baptist Hospital, Acuity, and Heartland for their gentle love and care. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Sunset Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
