

Jean Anne McDonald Barrett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away in San Antonio, TX on Sunday, September 22, 2002. Jean Anne lived and travelled throughout the world including the Orient. She graduated with honors from Trinity University in 1963. She received a Master's of Arts degree from St. Mary's University in 1966. She taught at Edgewood Jr. High School, Robert G. Cole High School, St. Mary's University English Department, San Antonio College, and The Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston. She was an honorary member of the West Point Society of South Texas, and a member of the Society Daughters, U.S. Army and the Retired Officers' Wives and Widows Club. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony de Padua. Jean Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Francis E. Barrett; father, Col. Thomas Joseph McDonald; mother, Jeanette Yore McDonald; and brother, Col. Thomas Joseph McDonald, Jr. She is survived by her son, Kevin F. Barrett M.D., and wife Lynn of Galveston, TX; daughter, Lisa Barrett Wachtel, and husband Christopher, of Pensacola, FL; two granddaughters, Erin and Taylor Marie. Reception to follow.
