She was born March 1, 1927, in McCooke, Nebraska. In 1945 she married Thomas L. Eyres of Austin. Jean loved to travel, dance and play bridge. She was a talented artist. Her love of cruising took her to many parts of the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Eyres, in 1974.
She is survived by her husband, Varnell E. Fleming; daughter, "Patty" Lohmann; son, Thomas L. Eyres, Jr.; step-children, Dave E. Hubbard, Donna Hight, Mark V. Fleming, and Laurie S. Park; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Maxine Newcomb.
