Jeanette was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Brackenridge High School, class of 1953, Treasurer of the Purple Jackets and where she met the love of her life, Jack Rodgers. Together, they devoted their lives to their daughter’s, taking many family adventures, spending time with relatives and friends and instilling a meaningful and joyful way on life’s journey.
Jeanette dedicated many years to her Church teaching Sunday school, coordinating retreats, children’s projects and making lifelong friends there. Her career took her from Southwestern Bell, Joskes, Ethan Allen, Bradfield Properties and ended her career, alongside her husband Jack, at Rodgers & Stewart. Jeanette's love for traveling took her to many U.S. states and also included trips abroad to England, Ireland, Scotland and Italy. She loved family time, interior design, going to the movies, walking, gardening, shopping and lunch with lifelong friends. Jeanette's life was filled by her two grandsons, their wives and great-granddaughter, who brought her love, joy and much laughter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Jack Holland Rodgers and daughter, Shannon Lee Rodgers. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Lisa Holloway and husband Michael; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Downs; grandchildren, Brandon Holloway and wife April Holloway; DJ Pennington and wife Tam Pennington and great-granddaughter, Fiona Simmonds.
A special thank you to Visiting Angels, Suzy Cunningham Tomlinson, Lynda Swatzell, Kristy Bradfield Petlin, Keith Kondoff, Greg Lee, Patricia and Ruben Arriola, Barbara and Tom Beighley and Angelica and Austin Villarreal and so many others who helped us navigate this journey.
