Jeanne Marie Sullivan Ms. Miles

She was born Wollaston, MA on June 24, 1929 and attended college Briarcliff College (now, Pace University) just north of New York City. Jeanne married Kenneth P Miles in 1951 at St. Anne's Church in Quincy, MA and quickly became an Air Force wife, being stationed around the United States and Japan. Jeanne cherished her friendships within the Air Force community.

Jeanne was a 40-year resident of Arlington, Texas, where she worked for Allied Pilots Association. After retirement, she was an active volunteer at the Arlington Women's Shelter, a docent at the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth for 20 years, and was generous to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. She could also be counted on to make a meal for a neighbor in need, delivering homemade brownies in a coffee can, or lending an ear and a prayer whenever asked.

Jeanne-Jeanne will also be remembered for her joy and humor, even naming herself "The Dancing Queen" when she started using a cane. With her feisty and upbeat attitude, she often teased and joked with friends and family, and constantly kept everyone smiling. She had a love for travel (especially London and Paris), dressing for dinner, interior design, including her famous "gray walls," sterling silver tea services, bold statement jewelry, Bloody Mary cocktails, and Parisian treasure hunting.

Jeanne loved her family more than anything, and was an amazing Mother and Grandmother. She is survived by her children: Col. Ross and Karen Miles, San Antonio; Douglas Miles, Whitesboro, New York; Wendy Miles and her husband, Charles Brower, Dallas, Texas; and was Grandmother to Daniel A. Miles and Patrick Murtagh, New York City; and Nicole Miles and Lauren Miles, both in San Antonio.

Jeanne will continue to be a source of inspiration to us all for years to come. Her dedication and generous spirit is her legacy. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be offered to the Arlington Women's Shelter (now, Safehaven of Tarrant County). http://www.safehaventc.org,
