Jed Wayne Garmon was taken too soon from his family and friends on February 22, 2012. He was born April 17, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas to Darrell and Myrna Garmon. Jed worked at Cummins Southern Plains for 33 years, joining the organization right after graduating high school. He worked his way up to Service Manager and was a well respected and highly valued employee. Many would agree that Jed was the best Cummins diesel mechanic in Texas! Being a mechanic was Jed’s job, but his passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist, but as much as he loved riding his motorcycle, Jed loved and cherished his family even more. He was a loving husband, deeply devoted father, loyal son, brother and friend. Jed was extremely dedicated to every task and endeavor he took on. He was meticulous with everything, making sure that the job was completed to perfection. Jed was loved by many who will surely miss his powerful presence, his loyalty and his dry wit.
Jed leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Bridget Garmon and their two children, son, Lowell Kent and daughter, Abbey Nicole; his mother, Myrna Edmondson and husband Jimmy; his brother, Jace A. Garmon; sister, Lisa Garmon Tamez; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Jed joins his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, Darrell “Dug” Garmon; recently departed Aunt Phyllis, and his nephew, Gage.
A casual dress Celebration of Jed’s Life will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 3PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior and Family Support Center, 3138 Rawley E. Chambers, San Antonio, Texas 78219.
