

Jennifer Craighead Buntin was born on October 25, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee to Elizabeth Hotchkiss Washington and William Allison Buntin, III. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended Alamo Heights schools, graduated from Alamo Heights High School and subsequently earned a degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of the Junior League of San Antonio and a devoted teacher during her active life in San Antonio
Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth Washington McNeel and William Allison Buntin, III. She is survived by brothers William Buntin (of San Antonio, Texas), Joseph Buntin (of San Antonio, Texas), David Buntin and his wife, Adele (of Nashville, Tennessee), and her sister Allison Buntin (of Nashville, Tennessee). Additional survivors include her nieces Elizabeth Chambers, Madison Buntin, Morgan Buntin, Jessica Smith and her husband Sam, and her nephews Jesh Buntin, Jonathan Buntin and his wife Katie, and her great-niece Harper Hammer and great-nephew Ford Hammer.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas, with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
A private burial will follow.
