Jerome J. Vacek, age 91, died January 10, 2013. He was born in Schulenburg, Texas on December 2, 1921 to Emil Vacek and Matilda Horak Vacek. He is survived by his son, William Vacek and his wife Marilyn; grandchildren, Christopher Vacek and his wife Sarah, Jamie Vacek Conlon and her husband Brendon, Bonnie Vacek Fillinger and husband Ryan; and six great grandchildren, Lauren Vacek, Carson Fillinger, Bradley Vacek, Jacob Conlon, Jackson Vacek and Joshua Fillinger.
The rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be offered at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest at Harry Wurzbach Rd. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
