He was preceded in death by parents Lula and Charley; brothers Pope, Tom, Riley, and R. B. Dixon; and sister Cora Choate.
Jerry, originally of Marshall, served in the US Navy for 5 years, before settling in Dallas, and marrying Kaye. He worked
for several Dallas area employers, including Chance-Vaught. Then, he accepted a position in San Antonio at Kelly AFB,
and relocated to San Antonio in 1966. Jerry became a member of the Air Force Reserve, and served there until retiring
in 1988.
Jerry was an avid golfer, a feverish Spurs and Dallas Cowboys fan, and an all-around sports enthusiast. Jerry loved
scratching a winning Lotto Texas game card nearly as much as he loved Willie and his music. He loved playing games, and
in the later years, Wheel of Fortune was near the top of that list.
He loved TV, and not just sports, and he could make even a very routine evening a special occasion. Those who were fortunate
enough to have participated know that Every One of his renowned Monday Night Football Chili Con Carne and Jalapeno
Cornbread events was more than memorable in its own way.
Jerry Loggins was a loving and accepting individual who believed everyone he encountered was a special person. He focused on
the fact that his multitude of family members were always deserving of his love and attention. But he also felt the many,
many friends they brought into his life deserved his love as well. Each of the family member's special people very quickly became
special to Jerry Loggins.
He had great respect for his country and his home city of San Antonio, and he was proud of his service to his homeland.
Jerry was a wonderful man who enriched many, many lives. He is in a better place, and we all know this, but he is missed.
The final years of his life were especially comfortable for Jerry, thanks to the loving a careful nurturing he recieved daily
from daughter Jeri and husband Danny. For this, the family and friends are eternally grateful.
