Jesse G. Birt

In his early years, Jesse was a Boy Scout and graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1965. After high school, he served as a United States Marine as an aircraft electrician during two tours in the Vietnam war. He attended Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, VA, earning his associate's degree.

Jesse and his beloved wife Virginia were married in 1972 and remained so for the rest of his life.He enlisted in the United States Army with his wife, in 1974, where he served as an orthopedic technician and an enlistment recruiter. He served overseas in Hawaii and South Korea. Stationed primarily at Fort Belvoir, VA, and Fort Myers, MD; retired in 1991.

Jesse had many hobbies, including his 1966 Corvette, Harley Davidson motorcycle, and studying history and the Civil War. He enjoyed spending time with his various hobbies; nature, birds, cats, gardening, and photography.

Jesse will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and George Birt;

Jesse is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia A. Birt; daughter, Jessica-Ann (Michael Scheig); sisters, Karen L. (Jack Weiss), and Margaret Cleaton (Lin Willet).
