Jesse Roland Gibson, Jr.

Jesse Roland Gibson, Jr. (known to many as Bubba), 90 of San Antonio, Live Oak Texas, passed away March 10, 2021. He was born September 21, 1930, to Jesse Roland and Ruth Gibson in Beeville, Texas. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 10. Jesse was welcomed by the arms of Jesus and his mother and father and his dear friend Mary Ann Boatner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Converse, Texas. Jesse worked at Walgreens as Assistant manager for 33 years and loved working there very much.

Preceded in death by his parents: Jesse Roland and Ruth Gibson, sister and husband Mary Virginia and Roy Heid, and his very dear friend Mary Boatner. Jesse is survived by his stepdaughters, Cella Bowling and husband Sam, and Lee Burris and husband Wayne; step-grandchildren, Chelsea Garcia and husband Robert, and Scott Burris and wife Ashley; step great-grandchildren, Jake Burris and Ava Garcia; his sister Ruth Peters LeDoux and husband Glen; his nephews, Ronnie Peters and wife Shelly, Jon Peters and wife Lauren, and Gary Heid; his niece, Susan Helgeson and husband Rich; his friend Cheryl Huth and husband Ed; and Walgreens employees.

A celebration of Jesse’s life will be a graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Converse, Texas. The service will be held on Thursday April 1, 2021 at 10:00 am. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church Converse, Texas. 9162 FM 78 Converse, TX 78109.
