Jesus Garcia Zaragoza

Jesus ‘Jesse’ Zaragoza, age 92, passed away on December 22, 2023 in San Antonio, TX. Jesse was born on July 18, 1931 in San Antonio, TX to his parents, Jose and Maria Garcia Zaragoza. He proudly serviced his country in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist for 20 yrs. retired as a Technical Sergeant. Jesse served Civil Service for 20 yrs. and retired Assistant Fire Chief at Randoph AFB. While in the Air Force he served tours overseas in Korea and Vietnam and was stationed in Alaska, Wyoming, Maryland and Louisiana. Received various Merit medals. Upon retiring He lived with his wife of 61years in San Antonio and was a dedicated and loving caregiver during the last years of her life.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Angelita Zaragoza, and their son, David Zaragoza. He is survived by his children: Jesse Zaragoza (wife Lilia, children David and Daniel), Ann Zaragoza (children Selvino and Selina), George Zaragoza (wife Mary, children Gregory and Jenna) and Andrew Zaragoza (wife Blanca, Children Lauren (husband Jon, children Layla, Araceli and Isaak) and Javier (wife Mary, son Leonardo).

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, 78212. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, 78209.
