Jesusa Maria Flores

Jesusa "Susie" Flores, aged 94, passed away at her home in San Antonio, Texas on January 14, 2024. Born on December 2, 1929, in Charlotte, Texas, she was the daughter of Piedad Dillard and Stephan Anthony. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Carlos Flores, her granddaughter Raquel Ramirez and her siblings; Secundino Anthony, Pauline Anthony Huizar, Alfredo Anthony (Ruby), Maria Anthony Gonzalez (Ramon), Juan Anthony (Celia), Irene Anthony Ruiz and Stephan Anthony (Angelita). She is survived by her daughter Linda Ramirez, the daughter she raised Antonia Carreon, her grandchildren; Barbara Mirza, Kathy Rodriguez (Ramiro Vasquez), Sara Robinson (Shawn), Jessica Gartrell (Joe), Ida Vega, Claudia Carreon, Carlos Vega and Isaiah Vega, 19 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, (one Baby Rodriguez on the way) numerous nieces and nephews, and a plethora of friends. Susie had so many God children whom she loved and cherished immensely.

Susie was everyone's grandma, tia, friend, and confidant. She prayed hard for those she loved and even for those she didn't know personally. She was kind, loyal, quick witted, sassy, and faithful. She was a helping hand to anyone who needed her, constantly putting others before herself. Susie was a good and faithful servant, she stood firm in her faith. Susie loved praising God in the good and bad. She always said "vamos a orar". Pray, pray and Pray until it changes.She always had her hair and makeup done, even if she was just going to the store. Always wearing her signature scent and red lipstick.

Susie was the matriarch and the glue to her family. Her legacy will be lived out by her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as they walk in grace and stay committed to living faithful lives like their grandmother intended.

A visitation for Jesusa will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, with interment to follow at Flores Cemetery, 5472 FM1333, Poteet, Texas 78065.
