

JoAnn Schoolfield Bowermaster was born in Laredo on August 12, 1926 and died on December 5, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. JoAnn was a descendent of Francis Scott Key, who wrote the "Star Spangled Banner". She was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Junior League of San Antonio, The Charity Ball Association, The Argyle, the San Antonio Country Club, and the Battle of Flowers Association. She was also a member of the Monte Vista Garden Club.
She was a 1944 graduate of St. Mary's Hall and a graduate of the University of Texas. She was a thoughtful, loyal, and appreciative friend and proud mother. As a young woman she was an accomplished piano player and loved to travel. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ann Bowermaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Floyd Schoolfield and Neil Willis Schoolfield.
She is also survived by her half brothers and their wives John and Cheryl Schoolfield, Robert and Amy Schoolfield of Austin, and half sister and her husband, Susie and Paul Spellman of Dallas and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
