JoAnn Foote Jones

JoAnn Foote Jones, age 82, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was born July 31, 1936 in Hunt County, Texas to Horace H. and Vera Massey Bagwell. Her mother died suddenly after her birth and she was raised by her step-mother, Merle Bagwell.

Shortly after high school, JoAnn became a Legal Secretary which led to a very fruitful and enjoyable career. During her career, she became a Paralegal, ultimately working for Stewart Alexander for over 30 years. JoAnn was President for one term of the Texas Legal Secretary Association and was President of the San Antonio Legal Secretary Association (SALSA) for numerous terms. She enjoyed traveling, going to many locales including Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Iceland, Europe & Asia.

JoAnn enjoyed square dancing for many years with her first husband, Alton Foote. After Alton's passing, Joann continued to enjoy square dancing and met her current husband, Tom Jones. JoAnn was also a sought-after bridge player and partner. JoAnn had a lakeside home at Canyon Lake, where she enjoyed boating and water skiing with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Alton F. Foote; and her sister, Shirley M. Crump. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Tom Jones; children, Sheryl Diane Sultenfuss, Kimi Lajan Foote, Darrel Lee Foote, and Tom's son, Robert A. Jones; and granddaughters, Brooke Foote and Mollie Sultenfuss.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 13 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
