Joe Anderson

April 7, 1926 – March 6, 2025

Joe Anderson was the youngest child of Gus Anderson and Bertha Elder, born on April 7, 1926, in Corsicana, Texas.

At the age of 17, Joe entered the US Navy, where he was able to travel to Japan, South Africa, Hawaii and several other places. After the Navy he enlisted in the US Coast Guard. He showed his love of the sea by helping others.

After the service, Joe moved to Galveston, Texas. His first marriage ended in divorce. He later married Gloria Anderson and they then resided in Galveston until 1969. When they moved to San Antonio, Texas, Joe worked at Frank Bros, an upscale men’s clothing store until his retirement in 1991.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Bertha Anderson, wife, Gloria Anderson, sisters, Hazel Wilson, Betty Berson and daughter, Margo Krepser. He is survived by his son, Michael Anderson, daughter, Linda Allen and husband, Scott Allen, stepson, Michael O’Con, stepdaughter, Roslyn Even and husband, Jim, granddaughter Kayce Fife and husband, Danny, great-grandson, Tyler Barnes, great-granddaughter, Kaylie Peterson and husband, Brent, great-great grandson, Owen Barnes, step-grandson, Kyle Even, step-granddaughter, Kimberly Valentine and husband, Roshaun, step great granddaughter, Lyra Valentine, numerous nieces, nephews and beloved cat, Christi.
