Joe was born in 1975 in Springfield, MO. to Joe and Deborah Crain. He graduated from Winston Churchill H.S. in 1993; attended Hardin-Simmons University, the University of Colorado, and graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio in 1999 with a BA in Criminal Justice. After graduation he worked as an insurance claims adjuster for USAA and later at Nationwide Insurance as a Policy Advisor. He recently found a loving church home at Church Unlimited.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He found great enjoyment in hunting, deep sea fishing and range shooting. Joe’s adventurous nature was demonstrated in his love of dirt bike riding and driving sportscars. The most prized sports cars that he had owned over the years were his BMW M3, red Corvette and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Cobra. He found his greatest enjoyment in participating in motocross, cross country and riding his dirt bike with fellow enthusiasts at off the beat local tracks as well as shooting his latest unique gun finds at the range with his nephews and father. He saw the world from a unique perspective which was often reflected in his silly and dry sense of humor that he shared with family and friends. Joe enjoyed collecting unusual memorabilia, coins and enjoyed acquiring unique watches and colognes.
Joe is preceded in death by his Grandpa Gene Pruett, Grandma Elizabeth Anderson, Grandparents Joe R. and Geneva Crain, his aunt Janet Crain, and his uncle, Dean Pruett. He is survived by his parents Joe and Deborah Crain, his sister Heather Crain, his nephews Jake Crain & Noah James as well as his great nephews Elijah Crain and Proteus Crain and his loving cousins.
Joe, with uncommon courageousness and bravery traversed the long road of kidney disease with a perseverance that was remarkable. Despite the immense difficulty and physical struggles, he endured daily, he stood on his faith and hope for a better tomorrow. Joe was extremely grateful and had deep appreciation for all the support and assistance he received from all his health care providers through the years as well as the National Kidney Foundation.
Joe often posted quotes about his struggles and his faith in Jesus Christ; he would without a doubt want to share the following from one of his posted quotes with his friends and family:
“As I look back over my years, I can honestly say the best choice I have ever made was giving my life to Jesus Christ.”
