Joe C. O'Con, our loving father, grandfather and loyal friend peacefully went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. He was born on April 4, 1929 in San Antonio, TX to Jose and Consuelo O'Con.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; the mother of their three children, Marina Hesles Monroy; and by his son in law, Samuel Bartholomew.
Joe is survived by his children: Cynthia Bartholomew, Joe O'Con, Marina O'Con Bradley; daughter-in-law, Susan O'Con; son-in-law, Jim Bradley; grandchildren: Lara Bartholomew, Elliott O'Con, Garrett O'Con; numerous cousins; and his best friend, Josie Rodriguez.
Joe was a past president of the Pan American Optimist Club. He was an avid sports fan and loved to follow the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs.
Joe knew no strangers because of his outgoing personality.
Joe's children and grandchildren were the loves of his life, and in his retirement years from Joske's of Texas and Dillard's department stores, he always looked forward to visiting his children and grandchildren.
He was a very successful man because Joe knew what it was like to love his Lord, his family, and to be a good friend.
He was such a wonderful man, and his passing leaves an enormous void in our hearts. We will look back fondly and with love at the special memories he created for our family.
