Joe Albert Villarreal, Sr.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of the San Antonio Board of Realtors and the owner of Villa Realty.

Mr. Villarreal served many years as the secretary treasurer for the San Antonio Softball Association. He also coached and played with numerous city championship teams. His love for softball was enjoyed with his entire family.

He served as President for the Condo Association were he resided. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Josefina G. Villarreal; brothers, Jessie, George and Perfecto; and grandson, Gunnar Harwerth.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Isabel Villarreal; son, Joe Villarreal Jr; daughters, Cedar Joiner and husband, Don, Lana Story and husband, Sam, Irene Harwerth and husband, Curt; daughter-in-law, Zoraida Villarreal; grandchildren, Paul Villarreal, Alex, Ashley and Garrett Joiner, Eric and Luke Story, Grant and Kirsten Harwerth, Joshua Canseco; brothers, Ignacio Villarreal, Edward Altamirano; and sister, Josephine Villarreal.

He was known for his generosity, loyalty, intelligence, love of life, dining out with friends and his immense nature for giving. We love and will miss him dearly.
