Dear Brady Family,

It is with deepest sadness that I extend my condolences to you on the loss of your beloved. There are no words that I can say that will make your loss any easier.  However, I would like you to know that I am sincerely thankful for his bravery and great sacrifice to our great country.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I pray that the deep hurt you feel is in some part eased by the feeling of great pride for his valor and deep sense of patriotism.   

He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.  May God give you and yours strength and courage. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. Please know that he will never be forgotten and your family will be remembered in my prayers

Pat Brady was a great uncle to me and i will miss him but we will meet again one day. sorry mom and the rest of my family that i cant be there but i am thinking about all of yall. i am grateful to have such good memories of uncle Pat and will always remember him. i am very grateful to have had such a terrific uncle. and i would like to thank everyone for all of the entries.

My deepest sympathy and prayers are with the Brady Family. I share in your grief and sorrow. Pat truly touched my spirit as he did with all the people he crossed life's paths with at AT&T and IBC. His smile,honesty, sincerity, wonderful sense of humor, his stories, hard work and dedication to all of the people he loved and cared about made him the special person that he was. Pat was a great inspiration to all of us. I am honored to have met and worked w/Pat. I will miss Pat dearly.

I had the honer of meeting Pat when it was time to put a new roof on HIS buildings at the IBC Bank in San Antonio. the minute i meet Pat i knew then he was a stand up man.i could just look at him and his manner told you a story that he was a good man.
Pat would come up on the roof with me and have us all laughing with some of his stories. when he told me some stories of when he was in the service it made him a real Hero in my books.
Pat had a great work ethic " Do it right the first time" he once told me.
i will live by that for the rest of my life.i wish that i had known Pat a lot longer than i did knowing there was so much to learn by him. Once Pat put his arm around me and told me he had faith in me in doing a good job for him and if not then he would whip me. i thought it very funny since i"am 6'2 and looking down at him. he had that smile on his handsome weathered face but i truly believed he was serious. the property he cared so much about was his baby and he loved it.                       
Pat you made a big influence in my life even though we only knew each other a short time. Now that our friend is in heaven and looking down on us i feel that i have an angle looking after me. Thank you Pat Brady for being my friend even for the short time we had together.

My thoughts and prayers are with Pat’s family at this time of sorrow.  Pat was truly an inspiration to many, many people and he will be missed.   I will treasure the memories I have of him when I worked at 175 E. Houston. He always brought a smile to my face when I saw him.  He had the strongest work ethic of anyone I knew and he always put everyone else’s needs before his own. He was a great man, with a big heart who was taken away from us all too soon.  May he rest in peace.

Pat, what can I say that hasn't already been said and every last word true and heart felt.  I will miss you dearly my friend. After coming to ATT/IBC 9/93 I new the first week of working in the building's at 175 and 130 that Pat was the go to guy if I ever needed anything or had a question.  His demeanor was tuff and to the point and he didn't dance around the subject.  But then after working around him for a couple of years I could see right through the cracks in his armor.  Pat was a gentle soul with a work ethic like no other I ever met.  Whomever was doing it, it wasn't done until Pat said it was done. I have great respect for my friend. He could make you laugh and he could make you cry.  I will never forget our days in the conf. room during our breaks watching old war movies, old westerns. That was our common bond, we both loved the classic westerns and war movies, even though I was 37 years his junior.  I loved the stories he shared of his time in the Army. His trips over seas, time in Louisiana and El Paso.  I am saddened at the sudden loss of a great friend and mentor. 16 years was not enough.  I will never forget the guidance and the strong hand around my shoulder after my father passed away.  He said, Roger me boy. It will get better, I promise. My deepest sympathy to Pat's loved ones.  My prayers are with you during this diffcult time. I can see Pat now walking the floors @ 175 and making sure none of us needed anything.  He loved taking care of his AT&T Family and we appreciated everything he did for us.  Well God has his own personal helper now fixing the pearly gates of Heaven and whatever else needs fixing. My sympathy goes out to the Brady Family.Pat was a great man,father, and friend.I worked with Pat while working securiy at AT&T building.Pat was like a second father to me.He had a special way about him that the moment you met him you fell in love with him.He was a blunt person but everyone respected him.He could make me laugh,cry and Im glad I was able to meet him. He took care of everyone he knew including me.He was a GREAT friend,coworker,etc.You will be greatly missed Pat.we will always love and remember you..

Pat strived to be the best and gave of himself unconditionally. I loved Pat, my friend, my confidant. I was honored and blessed in knowing him. My prays go out to his family and may our Lord receive him in heavenly peace.

Pat was a wonderful and true friend.  I met Pat when I worked at AT&T but it wasn’t until I got back from Dallas that he and I got closer.   Each time I had lunch with him at Oasis it was always something I looked forward to.  He always had the BEST STORIES.  Whether it was something that happened on the farm or when he was serving our country he made me laugh and ALWAYS brought a smile to my face.  Each day we had lunch he would walk me back to my office and made sure I made it back safe.  He also gave me words of encouragement when I needed it the most.  Pat, you are missed and our Oasis lunches together.  Thank you for your service to this country. Thank you for being a part of my life.  Miss you and may you rest in peace.

 As a contractor,I have never known a person as dedicated to "his" building as he was. Dedication like he had is almost impossible to find today.

Good bye my dear friend, I hope that I can live my life to your standards..
I am just not sure that I could show up to work two days after suffering a compound fracture of the Leg or with an IV in my arm so that I could take antibotic twice a day for a bone infection.  
Pat you never knew how to operate less than full throttle.

I share my prayers and thoughts for Pat Brady's family wishing we still had him for awhile longer. We know that God has the best Engineer in heaven to fix things up.  Met him first day after notice of SBC relocating to SA with tour of the bldg. and have been friends since.  He was so proud of that building and what it represented with SBC and it's people especially his friendship with Ed Whitacre.  He talked all the time of his direct friendship with Mr. Whitacre and was proud of his accomplishments.  For so many years while working at this building, I knew I could find Pat at anytime and he had a gift of saying alot in a short amount of time which I always enjoyed.....so knowledgeable and personable.  When I got the word, it really hit me......how quickly our time comes and we leave this world.  Just wish it hadn't been so soon for our Pat.  Always will remember you, friend.

I was blessed to have worked with Pat for eleven years as part of his on-site contractor team for both "his" buildings.  Yes, both 130 E. Travis St. and 175 E. Houston St. were known as Pat's buildings and he gave his heart and soul working on the property and he treated them like precious jewels.  Working long hours, six days a week, he was the most dedicated person to his job that I have ever known and this included; his bosses, co-workers, contractors, vendors and to every single person that has in the past and still does office in his two buildings.  He not only took care of his property, he was always available to give his advice and a helping hand to neighboring downtown buildings and businesses.  Pat was a true friend and like a father to me, taking over where my own late father left off.  If you needed advice, help or a hug, he was always there to give himself and never asked for anything in return.  I will treasure all the many stories he shared of his military career,  work on the farm, El Paso and Louisiana...Boy, he could make us laugh.  I will miss our daily talks at Oasis during lunch, the afternoon slice of cake or pie and glass of milk, the twinkle in his baby blues, that bright smile, heartfelt laugh and most of all, his true friendship.
"Pappy", you will always live on in my heart and precious memories, I love you and will miss you more than words can say.  Rest in heavenly peace my friend until we meet again, you so deserve it!

Pat was to me what I call a "True" friend.  We never parted ways without him telling me to take care of myself and to say hello to Chance and Casey.  I almost hated to call him when I needed help or advice because he was always bound and determined to make sure that I was taken care of and didn't give up until I was.  My love for Pat was that of a Father and a Best Friend.  He rode me like Father would to make me see the light of day and stood by me as a Best Friend when the weight of the world was on me.  Pat could be stubborn, ornery, and hard-headed but that is what I loved about him.  He always stood his ground and he would stand up for the one's he loved and cared for.  He had a heart of gold and bigger than Texas.  He loved to help people and the challenge to make their problems go away.  He was always rough on his employees and contractors (and his bosses) but that was Pat’s way of telling you that he liked you and cared about you.  When you tore through that thick skin of Pat’s, you found one kind, gentle, caring,  fun loving, great human being.  I will miss my friend.   By now Pat is in Heaven, already has his Heaven Depot Card, and has ordered two of every part to repair or replace anything that is broken or might break.   Pat, thanks for being my friend and for always taking care of me.  Thanks for taking the time to teach me anything from lessons of life all the way to how a chiller works.   Though I never got to tell you how much you meant to me, I think you always knew.  Your impact on my life as well as on my family will never be forgotten.  Your memory will always reside in a special place in my heart.  Rest my friend, you have worked hard all of your life and rest is more than deserved.   I will miss you and our Oasis lunches together.  May our paths cross again.

Pat was a great person to work with. He cared for all of the peoiple in his building and wanted quality work from his team and any outside vendors that were doing work in his building. He always strived to do what was best in the long run for his employer and tenants. Pat was a great person to be areound and he would let you know what he thought about an issue and not dance around the subdject. He is going to be greatly missed. I will be out of town and not able to attend his services to be able to pay my respects to his family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.  Pat always helped and always had a kind word.  He tried to appear gruff but really was a big teddy bear.  You will be missed.

Pat was my ally, & my true guide in providing the needs of those we both served at 175 E Houston. He gave & mentored to many unconditionally.He was generous & humble to all; from giving food to the panhandler on the street as he walked to the E Houston Deli, as to those illustrious business & community leaders who walked the halls the corridors of his building. We've all lost a wonderful man, gone too soon, too sudden. He will forever be remembered in our hearts.
