John Louis Clay passed away July 18, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 12, 1934 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Beloved husband to the late Reiko (nee Ueki) Clay; loving father to Carol (John) Lapp, Jay (late Patricia) Clay, Juliana Augoustatos, and Joe (Kate) Clay; proud grandfather to Stephen (Catherine), Elisabeth (Cameron), Elias, Erin, Alison, Nelson; and great grandfather to Cora. John proudly served his country for 20 years as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force where he worked on the Peacemaker aircraft. It was while he was stationed in Osaka, Japan that he met and fell in love with his wife Reiko. After the military, John had a long career at 3M until he retired and then joined H&R Block for a lengthy post retirement career. John loved taking his family on adventures, was an avid stamp collector, and longtime member of Toastmasters. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. John will be reunited with his wife Reiko at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX at a private family memorial service.
