My thoughts and condolences to the entire Culver family

Dear Rosa, Jannice, John, and Ed, Please know that I hold you close in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May God grant you comfort and peace, and may the memories you have of John bring you joy, just as he brought so much light to the lives of others. Love you all,

The Wetz family is deeply saddened by the loss of Rev John Culver. He ministered for many years in a caring and loving manner to my parents, Arnold and Loraine Wetz. We were especially honored that he agreed to help lead the memorial service for my father. His ministry extended to many areas and we are so thankful to have been touched by his faith, caring and thoughtfulness. The scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant" would appear to be a summary of John's life for which we give thanks.

Some one referred to John as "The Gentle Giant". I can't think of a more fitting description. Always sharing his love of God thru his actions, deeds, and the example of his life. What a wonderful example for all of us. Thank you John.

I was the interim senior minister at John's church in San Antonio for a brief time, and was privileged to meet him there. What a fine, gracious gentleman he was! He shared with me the story of his miraculous healing, and I've not been quite the same since. I will always remember John as a wise, thoughtful, kind, loving Christian. Men don't come any better than John.

John will always remain a friend whose loss has been felt by many. He was and will always be a mentor to me. John served the Lord as only he could and was always a giving and living example of "agape love". May those who mourn know that he is resting a better place than you or I.

John and I were members of Community Lodge #1201, now demised. John was a faithful member, serving many years as Chaplain for many Worshipful Masters. He gave us guidance, unconditional acceptance and support. We mourn the loss of this brother, but as he laid down the working tools of this life, the eternal life before him, in " That House Not Made with Hands, Eternal in the Heavens", opened up to him, because of his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal savior. May he rest in peace with the Lord he served for so long and so faithfully!

Rev. Culver was always an important person in my life. He was truly a "pastor." When my first husband died, his prayer was the best and most important. He was a great counselor and friend as well. Especially when my Mom was ill last year, he spent time with her and our family and held her services, even though his own health was failing. My Mom always said, 'John's prayers are the best." So, when my son had a health issue at college this year, I e-mailed him and asked for his prayers. He told me that he would certainly pray, but wanted me to know that he would have been up in Kerrville with us if his health had permitted. He was so dedicated and we loved him so much. What a tremendous loss to not only his family, but all of us. I can only think that my mother is thrilled to see him again and that they are probably picking out hymns for a service they have planned in heaven! With love and prayers from the Jackson Family.

John was a very important person in my family's life.. Alway kind and so supportive. We send our deepest sympathies and prayers to your family.
