

John Hampton Fielder, age 66, of Pleasanton, Texas, died Sunday, June 20, 2010.
John was born April 29, 1944 in San Antonio, TX to John W. and Mary Fielder. He attended school in San Antonio and Houston; and then served his country in the U.S.M.C. After his military service, he returned to San Antonio and opened his first businesses in 1970, Jobs Inc. and Jobs South, the first private Employment Agencies on the Southside.
In 1984, he opened Thunderbird Motors. He and Robert Cantwell of Corpus Christi then opened Quality Chrysler Dodge Jeep in 1997 in Kingsville, TX. From that point forward he continued to be a very active business man in the automobile industry, as well as real estate development.
John H. Fielder started with nothing and lived the American dream with the help of God and his beloved wife Trish. He was an 8th generation Texan, his ancestor William Rabb came to Texas with the Travis Original 300 who put up the first grist mill in Texas on the Colorado River. His grandmother Martha Regan Rabb was called the Cattle Queen of Texas. John Fielder was a member of Brahan Masonic Lodge in LaVernia, the Scottish Rite in San Antonio, the Son's of the Republic of Texas, and the Son's of Confederate Veterans, also in San Antonio.
He is preceded in death by his beloved father, John William Fielder of San Antonio and his brother, John T. Fielder of Dallas. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Trish Fielder and his mother, Mary Marshall. He had three wonderful children, M. Shawn Fielder of San Antonio, Paige B. Lohmann and husband, Larry of Fulshear and Megan N. Bowden and husband, Joshua of San Antonio; grandchildren, Travis Cole, Carley Cole, Christopher Rogers, Justin Bowden, and little Wyatt Hampton Bowden who is on the way; brother, Stewart Fielder of San Antonio; and sister, Melody Vaught of San Antonio.
He would like to be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and friend.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.

Rev. Tom Robison officiating. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Fielder would like his friends to make contributions to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or to any cancer research institution of their choice.
