He was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1955. He joined the Air Force in 1974 and retired after a successful 26 years. He then went to work for Southwest Airlines for over 10 years. John had an outgoing personality and loved life. He enjoyed traveling, music, meeting new people, and was an avid sports watcher.
John is survived by his parents, Albert and Janet Harper of The Villages, Florida; his best friend and mother of his children, Marcy Harper; son, J.P. Harper and children, Maya, Jackson and Justin; daughter, Amy Harper (Catherine) and Zuri; son, Jimmy Harper (Kimberly) and children, Lillian and Isaiah; sisters, Kathy Harper Yezbick, Kris Harper, Joan Harper Burns, Beth Harper Bryant and Susan Harper Moody; brothers Tom Harper, Larry Harper, and Jim Harper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
After his "Farewell Tour" John requested to be put to rest after a private prayer service with his family.
