

He was born December 19, 1918 in Iowa City, IA to Leo George and Emma Kramer Keppler. Jack was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1942 where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Following graduation, Jack was employed by Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company in Baltimore, MD as a Group Design Engineer during WWII.
After WWII ended, he relocated with his family to San Antonio, TX and was associated with Tampo Manufacturing Company where he retired as Vice President and Chief Engineer in 1981.
Jack was a member of the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and Anchor Lodge. He was also a member of the NSPE, TSPE and, in his retirement, the Texas State Historical Association.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ruth "Judy" Joyce Keppler and by his parents.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Martha Ragsdale and her husband, John, of Oakland, FL, Barbara Kephart and her husband, Gunnar, of Kerrville, TX, and Judy Green of San Antonio, TX; and cherished family friend, June Eubank, lovingly known as daughter # 4; grandchildren, Matthew Ragsdale, his wife, Laura and their children, Hannah, Catherine and Emma; Susannah Hurt and her husband, Chris and their children, Thomas and Elisabeth; Heather Laudo and her husband, Frank; Alex Kephart and his wife, Sabrina and their daughter, Sydney; Paul Green and his wife, Janiece and their daughter, Claire; John Green and his wife, Margaret; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring.
