

The day after his 18th birthday he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly for four years in the Korean War with the U.S. Air Weather Service. When he returned from Korea, he attended the University of Houston and later earned an Associate Degree in Business Management from Northwood University.
His career was spent in home building, construction management, and construction inspection. He pioneered the home inspection business in San Antonio. He was a Master Home Appraiser. He was a member of the Society of Military Engineers and an associate member of the American Meteorological Society.
John had a great sense of humor, was very outgoing, and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joan Brauchle King; sons, Kirk and wife, Diana; John and wife, Karen; Craig and wife, Amy; daughters, Kelly Harrison and husband, Tim; Erin Corkran and husband, Burl; Colleen Cox and husband, Gary; step-daughter, Amy Duncan; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
He will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
