

John Nicholas Melito, age 75, passed away on December 25, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. John was born on July 17, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey. The son of Anthony and Lucille (Vanarelli) Melito. He married Tonia (Baillargeon) on January 27, 1968 in St. Joseph, Missouri, and celebrated 53 years of marriage. Throughout his life, John worked as a teacher and a salesman. He was a musician who loved bluegrass, singing, and playing the guitar and mandolin. John also enjoyed the outdoors and tai chi but he cherished being with family the most. John was involved in Marriage Encounter and many philanthropic endeavors. At the time of his death he had been living with his wife, Tonia, and their beloved dog, Peaches (arf, arf) in San Antonio, TX.
John was preceded in death by his mother; father; sister, Maria; sister-in-law, Jane Melito. He is survived by his wife, Toni; sons Michael and wife Noelle Melito of San Antonio, TX, Thomas and wife Luz Melito of Peoria, AZ; daughters Amy Melito of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Melito of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Jarod, Nathanial, Joel, Kyle, Zachary and Tyler of San Antonio, TX and Roman of Peoria, AZ; brother Domenic and wife Mary of Caldwell, New Jersey.
