

SPC. John Michael De Leon, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2022 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina at the young age of 31. He was born on March 31, 1991 in San Antonio, Texas to mother Rita Ann B. Uribe. John Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Heidi Eilene De Leon; his two young children, Mason Peter De Leon and Emmie Lynn De Leon; his parents, Rita and Ruben Uribe; his brother, John Anthony; his grandparents Santos S. and Avelina Barrera; and numerous other family members, friends, and battle buddies. He served as a Combat Medic in the United States Army, as a Specialist in the 18th Field Artillery Unit at Fort Bragg. During his time of service he received the following awards; Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. John Michael was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. Among the things John Michael enjoyed were: barbecuing, working out, coaching his sons baseball team, and attending the Fayetteville Woodpeckers games. John Michael will always be remembered for his contagious smile that could light up a room as soon as he walked in. He will forever be remembered as a loving Father, Husband, Son, and Friend.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
