

He grew up in California where he enlisted into the Army. He served in the Vietnam War where he was in the 101st Airborne Division as a master parachutist. Much of his time in the Army was in administrative services including assignments in Japan, Korea, and Germany. Among his military honors was the award of the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from the Army at Fort Bliss after 22 years of service and held various positions in Saudi Arabia and Washington, D.C.
He served as Director of Administration of the Dayton Job Corps Center and as director of Administration of the Laredo Job Corps Center, where he later retired.
John was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Naylor; sister, Barbara Smith; and brother, Leonard Naylor.
John is survived by his loving wife, Janie Naylor; daughters, Pam Gambel, Donna Maxwell & husband, Bob; Kim Dunn and husband, Jimmie; step-sons, James Love and Brian Love; grandchildren, Maurice Gambel, Shondell Gambel and Michaela Cournoyer; mother, Edna Rowden; sister, Mary Serrano and husband, Mike; brother, Dean Naylor and wife Lawana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
