John Carmen "Jack" Pasqual III, a devoted family man, accomplished attorney, and cherished friend, passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on August 18, 1931 in Winthrop, Maine, Jack was then raised in Presque Isle, Maine, where he developed a love for learning and a deep-rooted faith that would guide him throughout his life.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1952, Jack moved to San Antonio, Texas after being stationed at Lackland Airforce Base as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, he ultimately decided to pursue a career in law, later graduating from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1957. Over his remarkable 54-year legal career, Jack became a trailblazer, earning distinction alongside his partner of 26-years, Pat Maloney Sr., as the first lawyers in Bexar County to win a million-dollar lawsuit. After forming his own law firm and mediation service in 1981, Jack was later appointed a Municipal Judge, named Deputy Chief of the City Attorney’s office, and served on the Board of Directors for many legal associations in the State of Texas.
Beyond his career, Jack was a man of varied interests and passions. A voracious reader and writer, Jack was known for his prodigious memory and could often be heard quoting favorite passages or lines from his beloved Stephen King novels, "The Godfather," and the music of Frank Sinatra. Jack also held his faith close, finding comfort and purpose in his spirituality.
Jack met the love of his life, Roxine, while stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, and they shared a marriage full of love, laughter, and support for 53 years until her passing in 2006. Together, they raised three children. Jack loved to travel and felt most at home when on the beach in Port Aransas, Texas, where he and his wife shared a condo at The Sea Gull Condominiums for 22 years.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John Carmen Pasqual, Jr. and Christine “Clementine” Crocker Pasqual; his wife, Harriet Roxine Moeller Pasqual; and his son, Jack Douglas "Bubba" Pasqual. After Roxine's passing, Jack moved to the Towers on Park Lane, where he met Virginia “Ginny” Harrell, who became his beloved companion and a source of light and joy for 15 years. Ginny, an accomplished artist, introduced Jack to painting, which became a pastime that afforded him much peace and time for reflection.
Jack leaves behind his two daughters, Patricia Perrine (Bob), and Peggy Korn (Jeff); his seven grandchildren, Jane Perrine (Max) Davies, Rachel Perrine (Luke) Landaiche, Ford, Annabelle, and Jack Williams, Emily, and Phillip Pasqual; and two great-grandchildren, Cal and Lyle Davies. His beloved companion Virginia Harrell also mourns his loss, along with a community of friends and colleagues who remember him with admiration and affection.
His family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Juniper Village at Lincoln Heights and Suncrest Hospice, all of whom were dedicated to ensuring that Jack’s final few months were as comfortable as possible.
Jack lived his life with no regrets. His family is comforted by the knowledge that he has been reunited with his wife and son in heaven, where his spirit now rests.
For those who wish to celebrate Jack’s life, a memorial service will be held at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church (825 E. Basse Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209) on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11:30 am.
