John J. Pruski Jr.

John Pruski Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2011 at the age of 76. He was born on October 3, 1935 in Kosciusco, TX to John and Zuzanna Pruski. John was in the flooring business for over 50 years and owned Carpets Unique in Leon Valley, TX for over 35 years. Watching sports was his favorite pastime and was a big Dallas Cowboy, Houston Astros, and Spurs fan, just give him any team from Texas and he was happy. He loved to Bar B Q and party, was funny, witty, and always had a story. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who taught his sons to respect and appreciate the outdoors. John was loving, caring, and generous father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He is survived by Pat, his loving wife of 38 years; sons, John and wife Vikki, Dwayne and wife Annette, Brian and wife Dede; grandchildren, Amber, Kimberly, Jennifer, Jarrett, Kaitlyn, Jordyn, Amanda, Austin, and Connor; siblings, Lorene Yosko, Zygmund, Virginia Maha, David, Mary Jane Jendrusch, Marvin, and Theresa Herber; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. The family would like to thank everyone who helped with John’s cancer treatments, whether it was supporting him by phone or driving him to his endless appointments. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 8161 FM 541 East, Stockdale, TX 78160.
