

Mr. Richardson was born November 25, 1919 in Coryell County, Texas to the late John A. Richardson and Esther M. Richardson. He graduated from Early High School, Early, TX in 1937. He married Sarah Elizabeth Townsend on October 28, 1940 in Brownwood, TX. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946.
In 1953 he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Technological College in Lubbock, TX. After working for a brief time at an accounting firm in Lubbock, he was board certified as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Texas in 1955. He also became a member of the Texas Society of Public Accountants and the American Institute of Accountants. Mr. Richardson began working for the US Army Audit Agency and later for Brooke Army Medical Center and Health Services Command, Finance and Accounting Division at Fort Sam Houston. He gave over 40 years of service to his church and his community. After 30 years of service to his country, he retired in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Sarah Elizabeth Richardson, and is survived by his daughter Martha Allen and husband Craig Allen, son John Richardson and wife Dismery. Grandchildren Daniel Saunders, Shannon Warren and husband Ryan Warren, Dustin Saunders, Carter Richardson, Kennedy Richardson, and Clay Richardson, and great granddaughters Heidi Saunders and Ainsley Warren. John loved playing Canasta, “42”, and spending time working in his yard, and taking care of his home. He was a loving, generous, and thoughtful man who was always there for someone to turn to in time of need.
