John Wilson Shepard, age 74 passed away on March 14, 2021. John Wilson was born on September 14, 1946 Angleton, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Reverand John Lando Shepard and Wilma Henderson Shepard. John is survived by is wife of 53 years, Susan Hurst Shepard. Son, John Robert Shepard and wife Krista Shepard, sons Briggs and Kash. Daughter Roxanne Shepard Jenke and husband Matthew Jenke, sons Walker and Logan. Cousin Elaine Smith and children. John graduated from Angleton High School in 1965 and then from Sam Houston State University in 1970 with a degree in Agribusiness. John, “JW” lived a colorful and adventurous life. He was an entrepreneur who worked in gas and oil exploration. As a land and ranch developer he traveled across South Texas and had numerous business partners. He spun many tales and loved telling them to his friends, family, and especially grandsons. JW also loved to dance and listen to classic country music by the hours. John was also known to cut a rug on the Garner State Park dance floor and knew how to polka with his Czech wife and friends. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
