John Mason Teague

John lived a very full and rewarding life, striving to serve God. He met the love of his life, his true soul mate, Betsy Carson and they were married in 1946. They were totally devoted to each other and lived 57 wonderful, happy years enjoying life together.

He was an avid Bible reader, and loved to tell others about God's promises found there. He and his lovely wife Betsy spent their lives helping others to know and serve God. He was a hard worker dedicated to making a good life for his family.

He retired at age 52, and he and his sweet beautiful wife Betsy spent the rest of their lives together doing the things they loved. John was an expert gardener, who loved family, friends, good food, fishing and occasionally an ice cold beer.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999. John is survived by daughter Betsy Ellen and husband Bill Wills; granddaughter, Betsy Dedra and husband Tony Hayman; 2 wonderful great grandchildren, Lavender and Texas Hayman and sister, Faye Wynn.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
