John Kelly Valadez passed away at his home on Monday, October 28, 2024, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his parents, Juan Rangel Valadez and Betty Jean Valadez; his devoted wife Hortencia “Tee” Valadez; his two sons Josiah Keith Valadez (Azi) and Jerrod Kelly Valadez (Haylee); his two grandsons Josiah Reiss Valadez and Jaxon Kade Valadez and his siblings Sheryl Vieyra (Robert), Brian Valadez (Lucy) and Carlos Valadez (Michele).
Kelly, as most people knew him, was an avid outdoorsman, talented craftsman and all-around hardworking man. But most of all, Kelly was a loyal servant of Jehovah God. To know Kelly was to know how much he loved his family and his faith. He and his wife were baptized in 1987 and faithfully served together until his death. Some of Kelly’s fondest memories were of building Kingdom Halls, assisting with Disaster Relief projects and giving of himself to help those in need, both in and out of the congregation.
A patient father, an adoring husband, a friend to all, Kelly will be remembered for the love he showed his family, his willingness to help others, working with his hands, his passion for fine whiskey, walking barefoot outdoors and his decades of loyal service to God. We take comfort in knowing he is safe in Jehovah’s memory, and we eagerly look forward to the fulfillment of Jesus’ words: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” (John 11:25)
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
