Johnnie Allen Young

Our beloved husband, father, and brother, Johnnie Allen Young, lost his battle with cancer and entered into his rest on January 22, 2015. He leaves behind his eternal companion, Connie Young and his children, Allen (April), Joshua (Nicole), Danny (Crystal), Jenny (Ross), and Billy (Melinda). He is the proud grandfather to Riley, Zoe, Nick, Payton, Daxton, Sophie, Jake, Cole, Porter, Delilah, and Finley. He is the beloved brother of Ruby, Geraldine, and Kim. Johnnie was a 24 year Veteran of the USAF, a recipient of the Vietnam service Medal among others. He was a beloved teacher and administrator at the San Antonio Can High School for 15 years. He was a devoted servant in leadership capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a Bishop and member of the San Antonio Stake Presidency. Johnnie had a great capacity for love and was extremely devoted to his family. He had an infectious laugh and a smile that would fill a room with life. We love you and will miss you. He will always be our compass and our iron rod. Connie called him her “Northern Star” with great affection. Peace be with you, ‘till we meet again. A Visitation will be held on Monday January 26, 2015 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 13153 Antonio Dr. Helotes, TX 78023 Tuesday January 27, 2015 at 10:30 am. Interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on February 4, 2015 at 11:30 am.
