 late afternoon talks about our Lord, sharing just how good our Heavenly Father is, sometimes uplifting one another when days were not going well or dealing with difficult situations at work. I enjoyed hearing about your boys/family. You are a God loving man with a beautiful heart & a very funny guy, fun to work with. God has chosen you for His Glory indeed, cause you left us your smile/laughter & will be forever remembered. Until then my friend, I am pretty sure even in Heaven you  keep your sense of humor alive.

I've known Johnny since kindergarten. Johnny has and was always a great friend to everybody. He was like a big brother when all of us (class of 84)were growing up not only him but the rest of the guys. Johnny I will miss you alot my friend. Everyday I pass your house and it brings tears to my eyes because I won't see you anymore playing outside with your boys or messing with your truck. RIP dear friend.

OMG as I sit here reading all these tributes and memories it is finally hitting me that you're really gone. I met you almost 25 years ago and it was NEVER a dull moment with you!! You're laughter, your yelling, your jokes were the best. You loved everyone unconditionally and no matter what you were never ugly to people. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have you in my life not only as my brother in law however a great friend. In your memory I will remind everyone if "they can't hang with the big dawgs STEP off the porch." 😂 love you crazy!! Our deepest condolences to Cathy. On behalf of Johnny "Psycho" Zapata. Juanio, all thought you and I didn't know much of each other. My Ole lady, (Josie) spoke of you always in a gracious manner. You always brought a smile to her face at work. Johnny said this, Johnny did that. Something that would always make her laugh. But, the day she heard you had passed. Brought many tears to her thought out the night. May you Rest in Peace Brother. You will always be in our prayers and thoughts.

Dad, I love you so much!! You’ve been in my life since I was 6, you’ve stepped in when my dad couldn’t, you loved me as I was your own and nothing less, you loved so hard dad even when the world was against us you still smiled and made the best for us!! 
I knew this day was coming but I didn’t think it be so soon. 
I’ll never forget the joy in your voice when I called mom and you at 1am telling y’all I’m pregnant, I’ll never forget the happiness and the motivation Jordan gave you to continue to fight, now you and your grandson can finally reunite and bond. 
I know your enjoying each other right now too.

I was happy to see your amazing smile before I left to Kansas. It still feel like yesterday that we went to go have Chinese food and you wanted the hottest soup they had and it was just not hot enough for you so you kept adding hot sauce and then watching a movie with you and my dad and you munching down on the popcorn and the pickle. I’m going to miss you yelling out of no where and scaring everyone. You were a great father, husband, a great uncle to us and a amazing brother to my dad it was always a party when y’all were together and we need more people like you living there life with joy and happiness in there heart. My brother, sister and I will take care of our dad , grandma and grandpa. We will always be there for your kids and wife. Rest in paradise uncle John I love you and will miss you until we meet again. 

John, I remember when you would have Amanda call me to bring taco Bell in the middle of the night cause you were hungry lol. I would take everybodys order and take it to y'all's house. There was never a dull moment around you. You were always cracking jokes! I remember you telling me and Amanda to go work at Chica Bonitas haha. You're going to be dearly missed. Thank you for everything you and your family did for my boys and I. I thanked you for everything you and your family did for us and I hope you were able to hear me. You're with Our Lord now smiling upon your family. 

Glad we were able to see your smiling face one last time. We will always remember your smile, your big heart, and the way you always made us feel special. You made a difference in this world by sharing yourself with the kids you adopted. Though you weren't their biological father, you definitively earned the title "Dad". Thank you for the memories. Johnny O. Zapata is survived by his wife, Cathy Garza Zapata and his four children: Amanda, Victoria, John Gabriel and Johnny Antwan Zapata. 
His siblings: Joe and wife, Trish Zapata; Jesse and wife, Jennifer Zapata; Michael Zapata; Peter and wife, Diane Zapata; Julie and husband, Angel Limas, and Irene Zapata Lopez. 
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
