Jonathan Blake Holland, age 43, passed away on December 8, 2025. Born in McAllen, Texas, Jonathan was raised mostly in San Antonio and left a lasting impression everywhere life took him from the East Coast to the West Coast.
Jonathan had a presence that was impossible to miss and people were naturally drawn to him wherever he went. He never met a stranger, and his natural charm and charisma were irresistible. He had a gift for conversation and a sharp, curious, thoughtful mind that could retain and recall a wealth of information. Whether in business, friendship, or everyday life, Jonathan lived boldly and followed his instincts with passion.
Jonathan proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Corpsman attached to the United States Marine Corps, serving with Small Craft Company during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Trained in combat medical care, he took great pride in caring for others under the most demanding circumstances. He was honorably discharged and received numerous medals and commendations, including the Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship Medal, and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement recognition. He was also one of only two original sailors to receive the Coxswain Certification for Small Unit Riverine Craft (SURC). After his military service, Jonathan became an entrepreneur owning & operating Qualitycraft Builders in Corpus Christi, Texas. For years, he carried the torch for the family business that his father founded and brother participated in.
A natural outdoorsman at heart, Jonathan found peace in nature. He loved hunting and fishing, and was at home in the elements of mother nature. His faith was important to him, and over the years he shared it in meaningful ways - including time spent witnessing for Jesus and offering encouragement to others in the Corpus Christi area.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Joanna Devine; his father, Craig Holland; his brother, Brian Holland (Amanda); his sister, Kimberlie Hovis (Terry); his nephew, Harrison Hovis; and his beloved son, Riley Holland, along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed Holland, Sue Holland Moore, William Devine, and Earlene Duffey.
Visitation and the funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary McCullough, 1101 McCullough Ave., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the service at 12:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd.
