

Jorge Bonilla Valentin, age 83, passed away on January 29, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 20, 1939, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to his parents, Jorge Bonilla Salazar and Carmen Valentin.
Jorge proudly served his country from 1956 to 1958 in the Unites States Army. He retired from the San Antonio Housing Authority as an Accountant. He also served as a Deacon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where his ministry included classes for marriage and Funeral Administrator. He loved meeting his friends at the YMCA and was an avid Bingo player. Jorge also enjoyed being a volunteer at the church and helping people in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Consuelo Alvarado Bonilla; and his younger brother, Roberto Bonilla. Jorge is survived by his children: Yolanda Bruce (James), Sylvia Hoffstrom (Jerry), Georgina Khan (Ali), and George Raymond Bonilla; grandchildren, Douglas Hoffstrom and Yasmin (Madhu) Mantravadi; and his sister, Ricarda Bonilla Rivera.
In remembrance of Jorge Bonilla Valentin’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, (ihmsatx.org) or Parkinson Foundation, (Parkinson.org)
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave.
