Jose "Joe" Escoto, Sr.

Our father, Jose Escoto Sr. was called home by our Lord and savior on Friday morning, August 20, 2021. Joe was born January 13, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Federico and Concepcion Escoto. One of 16 children, Joe completed his studies at Fox Tech High School and then, in 1946, joined the Navy. After serving on various ships, including the battleship USS New Jersey, Joe settled in San Antonio and, in 1951, married the love of his life, Angela Pintor. Joe started work as an accountant at Fort Sam Houston Army Base and began a family. He had seven beautiful children that were the apples of his eye. He spent his entire career at Ft. Sam and proudly retired after 35 years of Federal Service.

Joe is predeceased by his beautiful wife of 59 years Angela Escoto and is survived by his six daughters Elena Bustos, Rosemary Hernandez and her husband John, Diana Gonzales and her husband Mike, Dolores Gamboa and her husband Oscar, Teresa Dominguez and her husband Henry, Carmen Guerrero and her husband Robert, and his one son Jose Escoto, Jr. and his wife Diane.

Loving husband and father, doting grandfather to 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and one soon to be great great grandchild, Joe will be forever remembered in our hearts.
